We've all heard it before. A cry of distress for aid, assistance, or salvation. It doesnt matter who it is, if someone here's a cry for help, responders are usually on the scene within seconds. It's our basic design to respond to a cry for help. This is what I want to discuss, help provided and help rceived.
There are different forms of help, such as emotional, physical, mental, spiritual. You offer emotional help not only when someone is under distress but when you "show up" for someone. Showing up can be as simple as being present. In other ways it can be being attentive or expressive towards a person.
Physical help is straightforward as giving someone a helping hand.
Mental help can be helping someone shape their thoughts and form a logical conclusion about something. Or perhaps joining someone along their thought process. Or Co exploring ideas with them or thinking with them. Joining their thoughts essentially.
Lastly, spiritual help I attribute solely to the Lord.
Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
