A Womb That Waits

Humanity, along with this earth, is intricately woven into the plan of God, much like the body naturally prepares for the possibility of life long before conception. The human heart, like the womb, is designed with an innate potential - a sacred readiness - to receive the divine seed of life, the Christ, into our very being.

Just as the uterus undergoes a cycle of preparation, layering itself with a rich lining and creating an environment capable of nurturing new life, so too does our humanity experience preparation. These cycles - marked by longing, growth, and even the shedding of old ways - are part of God's design to ready us for the conception of His life within us.

The hormones, the sacred messengers of our physical being, that guide the menstrual cycle mirror the whispers of the Spirit, subtly nudging and orchestrating a harmony that aligns our inner being with the divine purpose, the beautiful will of God for life. Every part of the process - the quiet waiting, the unseen preparations, and even the moments of barrenness - serves a greater purpose, the anticipation of glory. Our hormonal messengers, akin to ministers of life, ensure that, when the seed of Christ's life is planted in the fertile soil of a prepared heart, it can take root, grow, and bear fruit in abundance.

Before we consciously know God, we are already moving within His plan, much like the womb's quiet yet profound work before conception. Our potential as recipients of divine life is not an afterthought but a foundational truth of our existence. Every longing, every moment of spiritual preparation of our physicality, mirrors the body's intuitive cycles, reflecting the Creator's wisdom, provision, and care. It speaks of the intimate knowledge the Creator has of what we need for life to be born in us, even before we do, and it is our deep desire to know as we are known.

This analogy reminds us that nothing in God’s plan is wasted. Even in the "empty" seasons, He is shaping and preparing us. Even in the foreshadows of inheriting His life, we can recognize that we are as we ought to be when reminded that God is love and that His love for us is unwavering. Just as the womb's readiness ensures the flourishing of life when conception occurs, so too does the preparation of our bodies ensure the fullness of God's life in us when we receive Christ. It is a sacred cycle, revealing the beauty of how creation mirrors the Creator's eternal love and intention.

Our entire being and existence are designed for communion with God. Our preparation, and everything experienced before fully embracing God's life, is not in vain; it is part of the rhythmic expression of His eternal purpose for us - a cycle of death and resurrection into new life.
